d’bi.young anitafrika Finalist of the 2017 Ontario Premier Arts Awards for Theatre and Literature, d’bi.young anitafrika is an award-winning published playwright-performer, director-dramaturge, and scholar. She is the originator of the Anitafrika Method (a creative leadership praxis and intersectional liberation framework), an internationally celebrated arts educator, and founding Artistic Director of the Watah Theatre as well as the instigator of Spolrusie Publishing, a unique micro press which publishes original works by Black and QTIPOC creators. She is the published author of seven books, nine plays, and seven dub albums, and has toured her work internationally. She is currently pursuing postgraduate studies in London, UK, researching her Anitafrika Method and Theatre of Ritual-Self- Recovery as outgrowths of Dub Poetry and African-Caribbean Theatre.
